I was born with the significantly common name Jennifer Johnson, which is a disadvantage to a new author trying to distinguish herself and increase her findability. And yet, here you are!
Whether you’ve found me through Google, a friend’s recommendation, or — highest of hopes — my actual writing, I’m so glad you’re here. After all, an author with no readers is just a girl telling herself stories (or something).
Those stories tend to be fantasy, which I love to both read and write. Magic provides so much wonder and potential, don’t you think? Music can easily become a bird, as in my short story “The Mistake,” or a girl can confront a trickster god, as in my short story “Kailani of the Single Bell.”
As for current works in progress, I have a novel in revision about a narrator hijacking his author’s story — to the chagrin of its characters.
If all of this sounds right up your alley, please stay awhile! Explore the blog and the rest of the site, subscribe to the RSS feed for updates, and sign up for the free bi-weekly newsletter, Author’s Notes.
